How to adapt a brand’s identity to fit local culture? How to be relevant in a market dominated by local players? Estrella damm is proudly born in Barcelona, and it’s an iconic bulwark of the Mediterranian chilled lifestyle. To tell the story of Estrella Damm in Portugal, we created the concept “A Window to the Mediterranean”.
To transport Portuguese consumers into the relaxed, informal imagery that Estrella Damm embodies – the life under the sun, the proximity of the sea, the sharing of small summer joys – we built a visual and narrative frame centered on a 'window'. Through this window we glimpse beaches, typical food, shared moments among friends. From there, we developed a visual language anchored in the brand’s own unique assets including logo, colour and typography. We explored for communication purposes a bold, impactful and instantly recognizable tone. The result is a flexible visual system that maintains consistency across touchpoints, yet allows local relevance.
In essence, the challenge was two-fold: to honor the brand’s Barcelona heritage while creating meaning and resonance in the Portuguese market. Through the 'window' metaphor, we invited the Portuguese audience to step into the brand’s world, making it their own – and ensuring that a brand born in Barcelona could own its place in Portugal not as a foreign observer but as a compelling protagonist of the Mediterranean experience.
